Odysseus was a very smart and dedicated man. He did not let anything stop him from finishing his mission home. Odysseus had many chances to end the mission and have a wonderful life, such as with Calypso or with the lotus eaters, but he chose to finish the mission. Odysseus wanted to hear the Sirens' song so badly, that he had his men tie him to the boat. During Odysseus' journey, Odysseus came up with many great ideas. While Odysseus and his men were stuck in the Cyclops' cave, he decided to hide underneath the sheep, which were being let outside, in order to escape. This idea worked very well and Odysseus and most of his men were able to escape. Odysseus also made a smart decision when he chose to go through Scylla, instead of going through Charybdis. I think that during most of the long journey Odysseus had his mind on the mission, but when he was with Calypso i think that Odysseus missed his wife very much. I also think that he was very eager to see his son for the first time in 20 years. Towards the end of the journey, i think that Odysseus gave up hope of ever arriving in Ithaca because he had no more men and he had no boat. Overall, I, along with many other people, think think that Odysseus is truly a hero.
I hope trimester 2 will be as good as trimester 1 was. In trimester 1, Mr. Parsons did not go too fast and clearly explained directions. I love having a class of 7 students in my class period because it helps me learn better. My classmates are always on task and are quiet when i need them to be. Sometimes my classmates do not act very mature, but most of the time they do. I am very happy to be in Mr. Parsons G period class and i am looking forward to learning many new things in trimester 2 and 3.
